What's In My Sephora VIB Shopping Cart

BeautyVeronica ArrietaComment

It probably doesn't come as a surprise to you that I live for the Sephora VIB sales. By now you're well aware that I'm a product junkie and constantly trying out new things. I'm aways reading reviews and trying things before I buy so I can try it and share my review with you so that you can see what I've loved and what to save your money on. Today is the day..from Nov. 10-15, VIB members and Beauty Insiders get 15-20% off. If you're a VIB member, you can use the code "20FORVIB" for 20% off and Beauty Insiders (free to sign up( can take 15% off with the code "INSIDER15." The best part is you can use these codes as often as you wish.

I've been low on a bunch of my holy grail products so stocking up on all of those, but I'm also trying out some new products (below), and getting a little jumpstart on some holiday shopping with the 20% off sale -- duh!

Sephora Solid Brush Cleaner: I usually use the Beauty Blender cleaner to clean my brushes and Beauty Blender, but this is way cheaper and apparently gets the job done. So I cannot wait to try it.

Cover FX Blurring Primer: I haven't used this primer, but it's in my shopping cart. Y'all know I'm pretty picky when it comes to primers, but I've heard so many good things about this one as it minimizes the look of pores and hides texture.

IT COSMETICS Superhero Volumizing Mascara: Another one I'm dying to try. I really love my mascara but have heard great things about this one so am going to compare the two and see which one I like better.

Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray: I got a sample of this in my Birch Box a few months ago and holy moly batman this stuff is GOOD! You know when you go to the salon and they blow out your hair...well this stuff gives you that blowout! I've never gotten go many comments on my hair and how bouncy and voluminous it looks until I started using this spray. It also makes my blowout last. I'm ordering the full size because I've never had a product do exactly what I want it to do with almost no effort.

Lancome Lash Primer: Eyelash primer makes your lashes look longer and fuller. I know it sounds silly but I do notice a different when I use one.

Tula Skincare Review - What's The Hype?

BeautyVeronica ArrietaComment

I'm always trying new products, whether it's skincare, makeup or hair products. A few months ago I ran out of my face wash and moisturizer, which led me on the hunt for new skincare products. After seeing so many other bloggers rave about Tula's skincare line on Instagram, I decided to give it a try to see what all the hype was about. Before I made a big investment in each full-size bottle, I bought the Discovery Kit, which is the four products I wanted to try just in travel size: face cleaner, illuminating face serum, day & night cream, and eye cream. I've been using these Tula products for two months now so I feel like that's a long enough time to truly review the products. I've also since, bought the larger size products.

I reached out to Tula and they were so kind to give a discount code, for my readers only! You get 20% off sitewide + free shipping on orders $30+!

Code: FOURTHREADS (it’s case sensitive, so make sure you use all caps)

I love this purifying face wash! I wet my face then in small circular motions apply the cleanser. It takes all my makeup off, even my eye makeup. It has a fresh, cucumber-like fragrance and gives my face a "deep clean" feel. For the two months, my skin is looking better than ever. I've never been one to leave the house without makeup and since using  has corrected the hormonal acne I was getting post-baby.

This stuff is the I can definitely tell my skin is brighter and more vibrant since adding this serum to my skincare routine. It's very lightweight. I use this illuminating face serum twice a day: at night before bed and before I apply my makeup.  I really like how light it is under my makeup, it's quickly absorbed and super hydrating. It doesn't leave my skin greasy or oily looking at all, it leaves my skin glowing. I'm all for that glowing/dewy look!

I haven't been able to find a moisturizer that truly sinks into my skin to hydrate until this one. I feel like all the other moisturizers I've tried just lay on top of my skin. I love that it's lightweight but creamy, and can be used for both day and night, which totally save your bank account from having to buy two different products. It makes my skin feel refreshed and not greasy.

I've never really used eye cream before (except for the samples I get) but have been on the hunt for a good eye cream for a few years because it's time to start taking better care of my skin and prevent aging with 3-0 approaching. The product is smooth and silky, and doesn't irritate my eyes. My eyes look less puffy when I use it and my fine lines are slowly disappearing. I've also started to apply the extra product between my eyebrows where my skin creases and near the corners of my mouth to prevent fine lines.

Monthly Beauty Favorites

BeautyVeronica ArrietaComment

Yikes, I haven't done a monthly favorites in  m o n t h s and although we've been busy with the move and pregnancy, you bet I've been testing out new products for you! This month's favorites covers everything from hair care, skin care, nails and body. If you missed my other beauty favorites, you can find them here. Without further adieu, here are my monthly beauty favorites from March.

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, Alpha Beta® Peel Extra Strength Daily Peel

When people see the word "peel" I think it freaks them out, but I'm telling you NOT to run away from this product. At first, the price tag was a turn off, so I went back-and-forth buying it until it haunted me (thank you ads that track your cookies!). But really, I read tons of reviews and I'm so glad I bought it. I have normal to dry skin and have been getting some texture and breakouts on my face. The product comes in a 2-step packet and just a few uses I noticed a difference in my skin. My skin looks smoother, the texture disappearing, dark spots and redness diminished, and my face started to glow. This stuff is magic in a packet, I cannot recommend it enough.

Obliphica Professional Seaberry Serum (Fine to Medium)

I've never been much of a serum person or hair care in general; but when I got this in my Birch Box a few months ago I fell in love. I have fine and dry hair, and have always been prone to my breakage. This serum has totally helped restore my hair. The product smells amazing and keeps my hair looking silky and bouncy - like in those hair commercials. No joke, I've gotten compliments on how bouncy my hair is after I blow dry it!

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Nail Coat

I have a borderline obsession with nail polish; but y'all already know that! This is hands down the best top coat out there. I've tried OPI, Essie, and some other drug store brands. None of them compare to Seche Vite. This top coat is so glossy that everyone always asks me if my nails are gel and I give all the credit to this Seche Vite. Tip: To make my nail polish last even longer with regular polish, I try to wash the dishes with disposable dishwashing gloves

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil

My mom sent me this oil a few weeks ago to avoid stretch marks with my growing bump. The scent is a semi-strong lavender, but nothing unbearable. I apply it every night on my belly and chest to keep things smooth and stretch marks here!!

Travel Makeup Hacks To Keep You Looking Your Best

4 Travel Makeup Hacks To Keep You Looking Your Best

My makeup is one of the last things I pack when traveling, rightfully so. We all know I'm a beauty junkie, so when it comes to travel I want to bring everything: a mask incase I get a breakout, a few different eyeshadow palettes, etc. Over much trial and error, I've narrowed it down to a few travel hacks to keep my makeup looking fresh and help me from packing everything in your drawer. You can thank me later!

Keep your makeup waterproof.

So I don't really wear waterproof makeup, unless I'm at the beach or pool, but if you sweat when traveling then I highly suggest investing in waterproof makeup. Whether you're running to the gate, sitting in the airplane, or getting off the plane, you will sweat and we all know sweat and makeup don't mix well together. My solution is to bring waterproof mascara and eyeliner to help you from having it run down your face.

Carry your makeup with you.

I'm sure we've all learned this the hard way, but almost every time I check my makeup with my bag something gets smashed or leaks everywhere. I've either had highlighter break or reach in my makeup bag only to find foundation exploded everywhere...not cool! Most makeup is under 3oz so you can easily carry it on with you so that you can not only freshen up when landed, but also avoid any broken bronzers or foundation spills.

Bring a pop of color for your lips.

There's something about a colorful lip that looks so put together. So whether you've been running around all day or just don't have time to freshen up before dinner, put on a bold colorful lip to help pull everything together.

If you don't wear it everyday then don't bring it.

I used to have such a hard time with this because I would be packing and say to myself "oh well that one night I can wear this dark purple eyeshadow palette"... wrong leave it at home! Try laying out all your makeup and then pack only the stuff you use on a regular basis. This might sounds crazy but it helps from not bring more than one bronzer, or blush, eyeshadow palette, etc.

Buy Travel Size

This might not help you look your best, but it will help you with space! Most of your makeup and products come in a travel size - and if it doesn't then go to Sephora and get a sample of it. This will not only save you room in your makeup bag but will make your travel so much easier.

Do you have any travel hacks for when you travel? What are some of the products you bring with you when you travel?

How To Grow Long Lashes - An Honest Neulash Review

BeautyVeronica ArrietaComment

I've been getting to many questions about my eyelashes, especially after posting this photo so decided to write a post on eyelashes. Even yesterday I was at the dentist and my dentist starting taking notes about what I use on my lashes.  Let's face it eyelashes (and brows) have been all the hype lately, to the point where I know way too many people with lash extensions. There's nothing wrong with them, but I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't ever get lash extensions. So I decided to try a lash serum. I've heard so many good things about Neulash from other bloggers with long and beautiful lashes so I caved in and purchased it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale earlier this year.

Let me start by saying my eyelashes weren't super short to start out with but I wanted to try this product to bad and wasn't believing the hype. So here’s my review. It actually works. Like really, really well. I apply it every night before bed and started to see results after just one month. I did forget a night or two, so that won't kill you, but just think consistency is king.

How to apply Neulash:

Neulash comes in a container similar to a mascara tube. You apply it like liquid eyeliner: to the base of your lashes. It’s important to apply it really carefully. When I first started using the product, I wasn’t as careful, and then I noticed a few random lashes growing in a weird place (but hey… that shows that it actually works right!). Ever since then I've just been clean and not sloppy when I'm applying it because I don't neen any wonky hairs.

Once your lashes start to curl they've reached their full potential or growth. So you should use Neulash every other night instead of every night. It's a good thing to note that Neulash isn't a permanent solution, however I recently took a month off because I got out of my routine with applying at night and haven't noticed any fallout (but am back on it again). I also didn't have any side effects.

Another thing to note is that yes it's expensive which is why I was skeptical at first but the larger tube should last you at least a year.

HINT: This will also make a great Christmas gift to add to your list! If my tube wasn't already full it would be on my list!

Where To Buy:

I bought mine from Nordstrom and will continue to do so once it runs out. I also found Neulash on Amazon, however I don't purchase many beauty products on Amazon because they could be knock offs. If you do purchase on Amazon I highly recommend reading every review because this is not something to mess with, which is why I go to Nordstrom to rid of any skepticism.

No, I'm not getting paid to say this but Neulash definitely exceeded my expectations. I've been using it since the end of July and my lashes are much longer and fuller.

Now to mascara since I know that's the next question. I just found a new one that is pretty amazing so go back and forth between my two favorites: this one and this one

I'm happy to answer any questions you have about Neulash or anything in the comments below. xox

When To Throw Out Your Beauty Blender

    BeautyVeronica ArrietaComment

Beauty Blender have become a staple in the beauty world. Who would have thought a pink egg shaped sponge would be a miracle worker when applying makeup! As I was dabbing with my BB yesterday I thought to myself, 'self when should I replace this'? According to the folks at Beauty Blender you should replace every 3 months!

So I thought I would put together a few tips on when to throw out your beauty blender.

If your beauty blender starts to get rips (hello!!), tears or even spots that don't come out with your BB cleaner then it's time for a new one. Trust me, there's nothing like a fresh BB that will get the job done.

I've gotten to know my skin pretty well over the years and can usually tell when it's time to clean my makeup brushes or swap out my beauty blender because of the random breakouts.

I'll admit that I run my beauty blenders into the ground and don't replace them every few months, but you should be replacing this every two to three months depending on how much you use it. I know this sucks because it's $20 a pop but once you replace it, this tip will make so much more sense!
