As I was watching the Golden Globes this past Sunday I got an idea to do a "Best of Beauty 2015" post on all of the beauty products that won me over in 2015. Y'all know how much I love finding new beauty products and 2015 definitely did not disappoint! 2015 was a good year in beauty products for me because I got to try so many different products and and got organized (more on that later!). After going through my makeup kit, I've narrowed it to my favorites. To make it easier, I've broken it up into different sections of the face.
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance - I got a travel size sample of this primer and it lasted me a long time. This is a great primer because it illuminates, moisturizes and covers small imperfections on the face.
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation - This stuff is just the bomb.com. Last year they changed up their packaging and formula which threw me for a loop because their colors changed, but once I found my shade it was back to perfect. This is a great foundation for taking pictures because it doesn't reflect the flash and gives you a flawless finish. It's totally build-able too so if you want a heavier coverage you can build up.
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation - This foundation is so beautiful! It's a bit more pricey than the Make Up For Ever but it has such a flawless coverage on the skin and feels so light on.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer - This concealer is just perfection. Seriously, the best concealer ever (and I'm picky on my concealers). No matter what your age is, this concealer is just perfect.
Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer - This concealer is thick and creamy compared to the Urban Decay, but it's another one of my favorites. (Tip: Make up for Ever just released this HD concealer that's supposed to be even more amazing but I have yet to try it so will keep you posted!)
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder - I use this translucent powder every single day. I love how it mattes your face giving you that airbrush flawless look. If you have oily skin whatsoever, you need to buy this product. It will seriously change your life.
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder - I swear this stuff was sent from God. Seriously though, I have dark under eyes and this stuff has brightened up my life (no pun intended).
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contouring Kit - This contour kit is one of my favorites for contouring my face. My two favorite colors in the palette are the middle two, however I do use all of the colors in the palette. (Tip: Another great contour palette is this one by Kat Von D.)
Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer in Chocolate - Okay, this stuff seriously smells like chocolate! This is a natural looking bronzer with no shimmer (whew!). The Chocolate shade is perfect for all skin tones because it makes you look naturally glowy and not orange. Annnddd let's not forget it smells like chocolate!
Benefit Cosmetics Hula Bronzer - This is another matte bronzer that I've raved about on here before. It's been a consistent part of my makeup bag for years now.
e.l.f. Blush in "Berry Merry" - I started wearing this blush towards the end of the year and fell in love with it. Not only is it only $3 but it has great pigment. I love the "berry merry" color for fall and winter.
HIGHLIGHTER AND ILLUMINATORS
Becca x Jaclyn Hill in "Champagne Pop" - This highlight is just on point! And great news...it was a limited edition product (so I started stocking up) but they just announced that it's going to be a permanent product! If you're on the market for a highlighter or just want to try an amazing one, I strongly suggest Champagne Pop - your life will be forever changed! (Tips on my favorite highlighters here.)
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in "Luminous Light" - This is one of those secret highlighters that I won't use for a while but then I'll use it again and forget how much I love it. It's a gorgeous natural looking highlight and perfect on brides. I can also see this on any age group as well, where as Champagne Pop might look a but funky on an older woman with more mature skin.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - I can spot these colors on someone a mile away. No really, last night I was at an event and asked one of the girls if she was wearing "Lolita" and sure enough she was! I absolutely love these liquid lipsticks; it's long-lasting and dries quickly to a matte finish. I have Lolita (a pink-y brown color great for Fall and Winter), Lovesick (a mauve pink) and Vampira (a dark burgundy) and interchange them.
NARs Velvet Matte Lip Pencil - I love these a lip pencils because it's so smooth, creamy and long lasting. My all time favorite red is "Cruella;" whenever I wear it I always get compliments and have people ask which color it is! Its a great red shade and so easy to apply because it's in a pencil form.
