We go through so much almond butter in my house. We went to the grocery store this past weekend to restock and they were sold out (da, da, dunn). So I had the bright idea to make my own almond butter. This almond butter recipe is so easy and healthy.
We slather almond butter on apples, toast, bananas, in our smoothies, and in various recipes as a substitute. And this recipe will officially be on repeat in our house since it's so great!
Literally all you need are some almonds and a food processor or blender…that's it! Start with whole almonds. I used raw almonds because that's what we had on hand, but if you prefer dry-roasted, unsalted, or salted almonds then use that - it's all a preference on what you like.
I have this Vitamix (which has literally changed my life but that's another story), but you can use whatever blender or food processor you have.
Start by adding the whole almonds, blending and pulsing for a few minutes until it reaches an almond meal consistency. See below.
Scrape down the sides and stir it around using a spoon or spatula. Then, continue to blend until smooth like a butter.
Once you've reached a buttery consistency, you're all finished and can transfer to a container of your choosing. See, I told you it was that easy! And so much cheaper then spending $10 at the grocery store. Making homemade almond butter should only take you 5-10 minutes, depending on the strength of your food processor/blender.
