Mark Twain said it best when he said, "the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." He pretty much nailed it on the head with this quote and I think "summer" in SF has finally started because I almost had to whip out my winter coats the other day. To say that I'm already missing summer dresses and open-toed shoes would be an understatement.

Today I’m sharing a few style tips for perfecting that effortless weekend look. You know, the outfit that looks like your dressed, but you didn't put any effort into it! This effortless weekend look is my go-to for running errands, hanging around the house, going to the farmers market, etc.

Here are my 4 simple style tips on how to perfect your effortless weekend look! You can chose one or use them all for your upcoming weekend wear (maybe just throw in some red, white and blue for the 4th!) ;-)

1. Sneakers.

Honestly I think a pair of sneakers can literally go with everything from casual to dressy. I love throwing on a pair of Converse for an effortless look. I have them in both mint and white and just love them. I do find myself grabbing for the white more frequently because it matches with more, but if you don't own a pair of converse then it's time to take the plunge!

2. Distressed jeans.

My grandfather always jokes that I can't afford a pair of jeans without the holes in them, which just makes me laugh! A great pair of ripped jeans or a boyfriend jeans is key to an effortless look. They give off that relaxed vibe. I always love throwing on a pair of distressed denim when I'm 'too overdressed' to give my outfit a more casual look.

3. Go for a top knot.

I'm a big an of top knots, whether you throw your hair in a full top knot or a half top knot, it's super cute and only takes a few minutes to create. All you need are some bobby pins and you're set. I love a top knot for an effortless weekend look (or a night out) because it doesn't have to be perfect -  a messy look is totally okay in my book!

4. Scarf or cozy tee.

Throwing on a cute graphic tee, plain white tee, or chunky scarf it totally effortless and chic. I love this color block scarf. I love the look of an oversized sweater with distressed skinny jeans. I just feel like it’s such an easy, cool look that can really take you anywhere.
