Put down the bleach, sister.
One of my biggest wedding registry regrets is (drum roll please!!) white sheets. Our sheets have tuned a yellow hue from sweat, body oils, and skin care products - so gross I know!
I have tried everything under the sun to get our white sheets white again, everything from bleach, baking soda and vinegar, etc. Absolutely nothing has worked, until I stumbled upon this Rit Powder White-Wash Laundry Treatment at the grocery store. When I saw it I thought "might as well try it, I have nothing to loose!" I'm proud to say my white sheets are white again.
I followed the instructions on the packaging for use in the washer. I added the Rit Powder White-Wash at the same time as the detergent. We have a front-load washer, so I stared the hot water then added the detergent and one package of the Rit White-Wash to the water. Be careful not to breathe in the White-Wash. Once the water is filled up and agitation begins, add the fabrics you'd like to turn white again. Then wash and dry as normal.
After this worked, I went back to the store and stocked up on this stuff so I could use it when they started to turn yellow again.
Do you have white sheets? Have you used this trick? What have you used to get that yellow hue completely off?
