There are few things that I really look forward to every year: my birthday, Christmas and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. And last year's anniversary sale, I may have spent a little too much money on clothes, shoes and handbags that I got into a little trouble with the hubby, so this year I have mapped everything out so there shouldn’t be any surprises - fingers crossed! ;-P
Throughout the sale, I'll be pushing out reminders and adding some of my favorite round-ups from denim, shoes, clothes, makeup, jewelry, etc. so that you don't miss out on anything. Get ready, because it’s basically Christmas is July 😃
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the biggest sale of the year where Nordstrom releases new fall items at a super discounted price. It’s a great time buy your Christmas presents in July, or stock up on some fall items at a super discounted price - I mean who doesn’t love a good sale anyways?!
The sale isn’t just clothes, it's also shoes, handbags, jewelry and more. For example, last year I got a Kate Spade cross body for under $100!! Click here to get a preview of some of the items that will be part of the Nordstrom anniversary sale this year.
What are the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dates?
The ‘early access’ Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts on July 14th and is only open to Nordstrom card holders. So if you are a Nordstrom card holder then you are in luck because you’ll be able to shop the anniversary sale before everyone else. The 'early access' to card holders is from July 14th-21st. The early access is great because you get first pick for everything, sometimes things are already ‘out of stock’ before it opens up to everyone else. If you want early access to the sale, you can sign up for a Nordstrom card here.
If you're not a Nordstrom card holder, the sale opens up on July 22nd. All the sale prices will go back to normal price on August 8th, so make sure to stock up before the sale ends on the 8th.
How to prepare?
You're probably thinking, this is a silly question Veronica, it's just a sale! Big sales like this can be a little overwhelming - like walking into Forever 21. So I recommend to shop smart. Before the sale, I always go through my closet to see if there’s any Fall staples or pieces to add to my wardrobe (i.e. booties, boots, sweaters, jeans, faux fur vest, etc.) and then will make a list from there. Then, I'll think about anyone I need to buy a Christmas gift for and write down a separate list for them.
A total side note: Going into Nordstrom during the sale can turn into mass chaos so I tend to purchase everything online. Nordstrom has such an amazing return policy, so it really doesn’t make a difference to me. Most times I will buy a few sizes in the same top or shoes and then will return in-store (or online) the pair that didn’t work out. They also tend to have more items in stock online than in the store, so the chances of getting your size is higher.
